When Wilder arrived in the U.S., he knew that learning English would be key to building a better future. “Since I live in the U.S., I believe it’s important to learn the language,” he said. “The teachers are very friendly and the materials are very helpful. I think Skyline has a good idea and gives good support for people who want to learn English.”

Wilder is one of hundreds of adults who walk through the doors of Skyline Literacy each year, determined to improve their lives through education. Whether it’s mastering basic computer skills, improving English proficiency, preparing for the GED, or working toward U.S. citizenship, these learners are investing in themselves—and, in turn, strengthening our entire community.

At Skyline Literacy, we’ve been providing affordable, high-impact adult education in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County since 1987. But we can’t do it alone. That’s why we’re launching a giving campaign to expand our reach—and we need your help.

Here’s the reality:

• 119 students made progress in our Citizenship Preparation classes this year.
• 39 became U.S. citizens.
• 67 improved their digital literacy and English skills.
• 72 retained employment with greater confidence and communication.
• And 27 parents reported helping their children with schoolwork—passing the value of education to the next generation.
